Reiki
Reiki (ray-key) is a powerful form of energy work that promotes healing.
The Japanese word translates to: REI- Universal KI- Life Force Energy
A Reiki treatment supports the whole person- physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. No belief is required for Reiki to work and it can be a transformative experience.
Reiki treatments are given to the client while they are fully clothed lying on a massage table. The Reiki practitioner gently places her hands on the head, the abdomen, the back, and any particular areas of pain or discomfort. Reiki flows through the practitioner into the client. This transfer may be felt as deep relaxation, tingling sensations, reduction in pain, warmth, or a release of tension.
The main benefits of Reiki are stress reduction and relaxation which trigger the body's natural healing abilities enhancing overall health. It also supports the immune system, can lower blood pressure and remove energy blockages. Reiki has also been shown to be a gentle and safe treatment for reproductive health during all stages of the maternity cycle. It is particularly effective in helping infertility because it allows the client to reach such a deep state of relaxation that she is receptive to receiving healing at which point physiological and emotional blocks can be released. Prenatal Reiki can reduce anxiety, nausea and morning sickness, improve sleep and help prepare Mom physically, emotionally and spiritually for labor and delivery. Postpartum Reiki can be helpful in managing the joy and exhaustion that comes with adjusting to a new baby and can speed up recovery after delivery.
